Founder — Marsburg Advisory, PLLC
If you lead a business or mission-driven organization, you've likely felt it: your financial needs don't fit neatly into any one service line, but the firms you work with are built around exactly that kind of box.
You end up managing multiple advisors, translating between specialists, and still feeling like no one has the full picture. That gap is exactly why Marsburg Advisory exists.
Most CPA and advisory firms are structured around specializations — audit, tax, FP&A, nonprofit compliance. That structure works well for the firm. For clients with complex, cross-disciplinary needs, it creates friction.
At Marsburg, we don't ask you to fit our service lines. We build around your needs, bringing enterprise-level expertise across financial disciplines to bear on your specific situation — without the handoffs, the gaps, or the constraints.
We call this a service-first, mission-driven approach. When you work with Marsburg, your mission becomes ours. We're not just technically proficient — we're invested.
Maurice's career has crossed nearly every corner of corporate finance. He began as an auditor, formally trained at Ernst & Young — one of the most rigorous audit training programs in the profession — where he served Fortune 500 companies, state governments, and manufacturing clients. That foundation provided experience most advisors don't carry into later roles: a deep, structural understanding of how organizations work from the inside out.
From there, Maurice moved into FP&A within private equity-owned portfolio companies, where the work shifted from evaluating financial health to actively building it. Over the last decade, Maurice served as a finance executive for two tax-exempt organizations — with combined budgets exceeding $100M — leading financial operations overhauls and turnaround engagements that required both technical precision and deep organizational trust.
That arc — from Big Four audit to private equity to nonprofit leadership — is not accidental. It's the foundation of what Marsburg offers: a single advisor with the range to see your whole financial picture and the experience to act on it.
Maurice is native to — and currently works out of — Chicago, IL USA. He's a husband, a father, and a proud multi-pet dad, who does this work because out genuine love for corporate financial management — and because he believes the organizations and people we serve deserve an advisor who does.
No pitch, no pressure. If you're a business owner, nonprofit executive, or board member who feels underserved by your current financial advisors — or who has never quite found the right fit — I'd like to hear about your situation.
